The Insert Column function creates a new column to the left of the selected column in a table.

1. Place the cursor in any cell of a selected column.
2. Click the Insert Column Icon in the toolbar.
   The column is inserted to the left of the selected column .

Note: When a new column is inserted within the span of an existing column span, the new column will be incorporated into the existing column span.
