Image Properties

To modify or set Image Properties:

  1. Select the image by clicking on it. Small boxes at the corners and mid points of the sides of the image will appear when it has been successfully selected.
  2. Click the Image Properties Icon On the Toolbar.  
    The Image Properties dialog box will appear:
  3.  Enter the values and information for each field.

Definitions:

  • The Border is a frame around the image which can have a color and thickness.
  • Vertical Padding defines a margin of the specified number of pixels above and below the image.
  • Horizontal Padding defines a margin of the specified number of pixels left and right of the image. 
  • The Alternate Text is displayed by browsers when they are set to not show graphics.  It will also display when the cursor is placed over the image.  Alternate text can be indexed by search engines as well, and may help in page ranking.
  • The Color Palette and Border Color can be used in conjunction to choose and set the color for the border of the image.

To set the size of the Border, Vertical Padding and Horizontal Spacing:

  • Type the number of the pixels into the box adjacent to the feature as desired.

To set the Alternate Text:

  • Type the desired Text in the Box.

The Border Color can be set in more than one way:

  • One ingenious, and fun method is to simply type the name of a common color in the color field in english!

or

  • Type in the hexadecimal value for the color if you know it.

or

  • Use your pointer to select a color in the palette and click on it with you mouse button to set the color.

 then

  • Click Apply to preview your edited properties.
  • Continue Editing until you are satisfied with the result.
  • Click OK to finish.

Note: Click Cancel to disregard any changes not yet applied and close the dialog box.
